David and Michelle Plachte-Zuieback met in 1977, while they were both students in Los Angeles. They opened their first stained glass studio, Sundog Stained Glass, in Willits, California, in 1978. Married in 1980, their daughter, Rebecca, was born in 1981. Michelle and David moved to Santa Rosa, CA, in 1989, where they created Plachte-Zuieback Art Glass Studios. Together they have been teaching an intensive stained glass workshop for teens at UAHC Camp Swig Institute for Living Judaism, annually, since 1983.
