In
January of 2006, Plachte-Zuieback Art Glass was commissioned
to design and create an
original art glass installation for the Shiffman
Chapel at Adat Shalom Synagogue, in Farmington Hills,
Michigan. The following project journal follows the progress
of the fabrication of the windows, in our studio, in Santa
Rosa, California.

After
completion of the glass cutting for the central
panel,all pieces are removed which need painting.Above,
the remaining pieces from the central panel arelaid
out while the inscription is being painted on all
the other pieces.

Michelle
applies the paint to the resist-covered pieces of
the window.

The
paint is brushed into the open spaces on each piece
of glass.

The
paint is laid to dry, before the resist can be removed
and the pieces of glass placed into the kiln, for
firing.
