In
January of 2006, Plachte-Zuieback Art Glass was commissioned
to design and create an
original art glass installation for the Shiffman
Chapel at Adat Shalom Synagogue, in Farmington Hills,
Michigan. The following project journal follows the progress
of the fabrication of the windows, in our studio, in Santa
Rosa, California.

Model
for the Ner Tamid. Slumped glass globe with glass
disk and chain. The actual Ner Tamid will be composed
of the same elements, but using glass that coordinates
with the stained glass windows as well as a heavier
swag-type chain.

The
decoration of the Hebrew letters signifies the "tohu
v'vohu" or raw material of creation: light
becoming light.
