This plate, with apple motif is designed for use with apples and honey at Rosh Hashana. The "Shehechianu" is inscribed around the rim and the apples are rendered with shade blasting to achieve intermediate color tones. |

"The apple has been mistakenly identified as the 'forbidden fruit' of Genesis 1 by Medieval translators of the Old Testament. Not known in ancient times, apples are now a common fruit in tyhe Holy Land and have come to symbolize a blessing for a sweety New Year. The 'Shehechianu' is inscribed on the rim of the plate."
