The deep carved sandblasting, on the ark doors is best viewed when the dark parochet is drawn and the etching is lit from an oblique angle

wpeC4.jpg (46110 bytes) The letters of the Ten Commandments, etched on the Aron Hakodesh doors, are inscribed with designs of the Ten Holy Fruits which grow in the land of Israel. wpeC3.jpg (21520 bytes)
When the parochet is opened, the Torah's are partially visible. These pomegranates are etched deep into the 3/4" thick glass ark doors, using a techniques known as "glass carving."
