In this proposal, we have envisioned twenty-two  glass etchings, depicting the twenty-two gates enumerated in  the acrostic prayer, the "Patach Lanu".  Each etching features the name of the gate, with the first letter carved deepest and enlarged.

wpe41.jpg (7867 bytes) wpe3D.jpg (9634 bytes) These multiple-level sandblast etchings are executed on 3/4" clear float glass.
The "Patach Lanu" is an acrostic poem,   recited at the close of the Yom Kippur service, in which we beseech Adonai to "Open the Gates of Righteousness to us all."  The names of the gates correspond to the twenty-two letters of the Hebrew alphabet.
