Gold leafing of the word "Adonai" on the Aron doors.
The inner surfaces of the cherry-wood doors are painted with a design of Hebrew letters against a blue background
The gold leaf reflects the light and sets these words apart from the "tohu v'vohu"
The shape of the blue background mirrors the shape of the wood on the wall behind the aron. The "notched arch" symbolizes the imperfect nature of our world.
