The "Hamsa"
traditionally is placed on the wall to protect the room
of a pregnant woman from evil. This "Hamsa"
is decorated with the three wishes for a newborn Jewish
Child: Torah, Wedding and Good Deeds. A strand
of the DNA molecule symbolizes the chain of tradition.
The snipping pose of the fingers, refers to circumcision.
A candelabra of 12 candles, each inscribed with a name
of one the 12 tribes of Israel, symbolizes the newborns
initiation into the people of Israel. Below, two
footprints from a birth certificate appear. In
the background, the tablets with the ten commandments
represent the law of the people of Israel.
